Giorgio Sartor - SINTEF
Research Scientist
Giorgio Sartor is a research scientist in the Optimization group of SINTEF Digital, within the department of Mathematics and Cybernetics. He has a background in automation engineering (B.Sc. and M.Sc., University of Padua) and operations research (Ph.D., Singapore University of Technology and Design). Over the years he developed an interest in other subjects as well, such as machine learning and quantum computing. His focus remains train scheduling, though, and all its related optimization problems. For the past six years, he contributed to the development of several state-of-the-art algorithms in the context of train dispatching and train timetabling, most of them based on mathematical programming.
