May 9th Gurobi Connect Agenda
9:00 AM Welcome & Introductions
9:30 AM Gurobi Highlights

Join us as we explore the latest advancements and little-known features in Gurobi optimizer. Gain insights into the latest and most significant of these features and understand how Gurobi’s decision intelligence technology shapes the future of business problem-solving. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, this session will equip you with the knowledge to leverage Gurobi’s powerful tools for optimal decision-making.

10:30 AM 15 minute break
10:45 AM Gurobi Data Integration

Intuitive modelling and easy data integration are essential for integrating optimization into data analytics solutions. In addition to algebraic terms, Gurobi has two intuitive modeling approaches: matrix-based and Dataframe-based. It includes a new set of API functions within the Gurobi Python interface that supports matrix- and dataframe-oriented modeling. These new API functions greatly improve and simplify the process of building optimization models.

11:30 AM Discussion: Modeling
12:00 PM Lunch
1:00 PM Non-Linear Integer Problems

Gurobi 11 provides a new algorithm to solve nonlinear, mixed integer problems. This session will walk through an a Mixed-Integer example that also contains Non-Linear expressions. Gurobi provides two ways to solve these types of problems. This session will cover both — showing how and when to use each one. It will also include a brief discussion of the new MINLP algorithm in Gurobi 11.

1:30 PM Gurobi Machine Learning

Gurobi is simplifying the process of connecting your predictive models to your optimization problem. Gurobi Machine Learning is a Python package enables users to include trained machine learning regressors (e.g., from scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Keras, or PyTorch) as a constraint in a Gurobi model.   This way, they can achieve better integration between trained predictions and optimal decision-making.

This tutorial will explain the Gurobi Machine Learning package and its role in an optimization application.

2:15 PM 15 minute break
2:30 PM Gurobi in Containers

For Docker architectures, Gurobi provides images on Docker Hub. There is one for python programmers, one for all other Gurobi API’s (C, C++, Java, .Net, etc.), and two for Gurobi Compute Server. This session describes each of these and demonstrates how to use them.

3:00 PM Discussion: Gurobi Features
